2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts

3. Payments

Payment information may be collected and processed by Stripe or another payment processor. Minute Wars may receive payment-related identifiers, transaction status, payment method type, dispute status, and payout-related information, but does not store full card numbers.

4. Shipping and Tax

We may use your shipping address, billing address, and order information to calculate shipping, tax, and final order totals.

5. Sellers

If you sell on Minute Wars, we may collect seller verification information, payout information, tax information, business information, shipping information, and other information needed to operate the marketplace and comply with applicable law.

Certain seller information may be disclosed to buyers when required by law, marketplace policy, or transaction needs.

6. Sharing Information

We may share information with:

  • Payment processors
  • Shipping providers
  • Tax calculation providers
  • Fraud prevention providers
  • AI and content-moderation providers, to help review listing text and images for prohibited-item and trust and safety risk
  • Error and performance monitoring providers (such as Sentry)
  • First-party product analytics providers (such as PostHog) used to understand how people use Minute Wars — not advertising networks
  • Cloud hosting and technology providers
  • Customer support tools
  • Legal, compliance, or law enforcement recipients where required
  • Buyers and sellers as needed to complete a transaction

When you submit a listing, we may share the listing title, description, and images with an AI/content-moderation provider to generate advisory risk guidance for our trust and safety team. Listings remain subject to human review before approval, as described in the Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of selling a customer list for money.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies and similar first-party technologies to operate the site, keep users logged in, prevent fraud, analyze our own traffic, and improve the user experience. We use PostHog for first-party product analytics (page views and a small set of product events such as successful sign-up or log-in). That analytics setup is configured without advertising cookies or ad-network pixels. As described in the California Privacy Rights section below, we do not use third-party tracking pixels or advertising networks.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

9. Data Retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate the marketplace, complete transactions, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our policies.

10. Your Choices

You may update certain account information in your profile. You may contact us to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting information, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, tax, payment, and dispute-related retention requirements.

11. SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to text messages, Minute Wars may use your phone number to send account, verification, auction, bid, win, sale, order, support, and marketplace notifications. Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. You may reply START to opt back in where supported. You may reply HELP or contact support for assistance. Opting out of text messages does not stop emails, push or in-app notices where available, or other non-SMS communications.

We do not sell or share SMS opt-in consent or phone numbers with third parties for their marketing. We may share information with service providers, such as Twilio, only as needed to deliver, secure, log, and manage text messages and comply with messaging rules.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you certain rights over your personal information. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them, covering the preceding 12 months.

Categories of personal information we collect. Using the categories defined by the CCPA: identifiers (name, email, phone number, username, IP address, account identifiers); customer records information (billing and shipping address, payment-related identifiers); commercial information (bid, purchase, and sales history); internet or network activity (device information, browser and usage data); and inferences drawn for fraud and risk scoring. See Section 1 above for the full list. We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, biometric information, or government ID/Social Security numbers directly — payment-related sensitive information is collected by our payment processor, not stored on our own servers.

Sources. We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of the site, and from service providers such as our payment processor and sign-in providers. Purposes and third-party disclosures are described in Sections 2 and 6 above.

We do not sell or share personal information. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as both terms are defined by the CCPA. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising networks that would constitute sharing under the CCPA.

Your rights. Subject to certain exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Know/Access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete — request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, tax, payment, and dispute-related retention requirements.
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing — as noted above, we do not currently sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of today; you may still submit a request and we will confirm this in response.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right under the CCPA.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

How to submit a request. Email support@minutewars.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity — typically by confirming details on your existing account — before fulfilling a request. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and verification of your identity. We will respond within the time required by law.

Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
